Aircraft History
Built by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation (LAC) in Burbank, California. Delivered to the U. S. Army. Disassembled and shipped overseas and reassembled. This aircraft had a natural aluminum finish.

Wartime History
Assigned to the 5th Air Force, 8th Fighter Group, 80th Fighter Squadron "Headhunters". This Lightning operated from Hollandia area.

On August 12, 1944 this P-38 was damaged during a Japanese air raid and damaged by enemy bombs. Afterwards, this P-38 was written off. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
