Wartime History
Assigned to the 5th Air Force, Fighter replacement pool at at 3 Mile Drome (Kila) near Port Moresby. No known nickname or nose art.

Mission History
On August 6, 1943 pilot Cornelius M. "Corky" Smith, Jr. was taxing at 3 Mile Drome (Kila) near Port Moresby at 11:15am this aircraft accidentally taxied into a tractor while avoiding a P-40 Warhawk taxing towards it. Smith did not see a grading machine and the leading edge impacted it causing damage. Afterwards, repaired. Ultimate fate unknown likely scrapped.
