Aircraft History
Built by 1st Army Air Arsenal, estimated assembly date March 1943. Unknown if this aircraft was a reconnaissance version or assault version. Assigned to the Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF). Possibly, this aircraft was assigned to the 26th Sentai.

Wartime History
Operated at Alexishafen Airfield, destroyed by Allied bombing attacks, and the wreckage

Wreckage
Wreckage remained at the edge of a bomb crater. Likely, scrapped sometime in the late 1960s or early 1970s.

Charles Darby adds:
"[Ray Fairfield's photo shows] a Sonia hulk at [Alexishafen] bomber strip.  From memory it was 2053, but I won't be able to access my notes until I get back to NZ."
