Pilot Lt. Kyuichi Okomoto (KIA) Observer Lt. Yasuro Yamamoto (KIA) Crashed August 17, 1943 Aircraft History Built by Mitsubishi at the Oe-machi plant during late October 1942. At the factory, painted overall gray. Delivered to the Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF) as Type 100 Command Reconnaissance Aircraft Shinshitei / Ki-46-II Dinah manufacture number 2250. Wartime History Assigned to the 70th Dokuritsu Dai Shijugo Chutai (70th Independent Command Squadron). The tail had a reversed white "S" denoting a river, the motif of the 70th Dokuritsu Dai Shijugo Chutai. Mission History On August 17, 1943 took off piloted by Lt. Kyuichi Okomoto on a reconnaissance mission over Darwin. This Dinah was shot down near Channel Point.
