Aircraft History Built by Kawasaki at Gifu (Kagamigahara) during October 1942. Delivered to the Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF) as Type 2 Two-Seat Fighter Toryu / Ki-45 Nick manufacture number 1024. When lost, one engine was serial number 1625 manufactured September 1942. Wartime History Assigned to the 13th Hiko Sentai (13th Flying Regiment). During May 1943 arrived at Rabaul. Painted with motted green upper surfaces, likely in the field. This Nick was demolished at Cape Gloucester Airfield on No. 2 Strip (East Airfield) ikely during June 1943. Wreckage On December 30, 1943 captured by U.S. Marines at Cape Gloucester Airfield. Afterwards, evaluated by Allied intelligence that noted the manufacture number as 237.
