Aircraft History Built by Mitsubishi. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as J8M1 Shūsui manufacture number unknown. Wartime History The fuselage was placed in a cave in Japan. At the end of the Pacific War, abandoned or forgotten. Wreckage In the 1960s, the fuselage was discovered and recovered in nearly complete but badly damaged condition. Display Afterwards, placed on display at Kakamigahara Aerospace Museum (Gifu Museum). During 1999, restored for display at the Mitsubishi Heavy Industry Museum. The fuselage is original while the rest of the jet is replica. Contribute
