Accepted to the USN from factory at Bethpage, Long Island,
and assigned to Naval Air Station New York, February 15, 1942. This
was assigned VMF-111 in San Diego, CA on March 16, 1942. Next,
it was assigned to Marine Air Group 13 at Tufuna, Samoa beginning
February 16, 1943 and then assigned to US Navy Composite Squadron
VJ-12 November 1, 1943.
Sometime after November 1943, the aircraft was assigned to Pool
Squadron on Guadalcanal, and was either damaged, or crashed, and abandoned
The only other known detail is that it was striken from the registry
September 31, 1945.
Parts are displayed at the Vilu
War Museum, confirming the Bureau Number of this aircraft. It
is unclear if the rest of the aircraft survived the war.
