Aircraft History
Built by Mitsubishi at Nagoya No. 3 Works. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN). Assigned to the 705 Kokutai. Tail code 355 painted in yellow. Painted with green upper surfaces and gray lower surfaces.

Wartime History
During 1942 or 1943, took off on a bombing mission against Guadalcanal. Over the target, this bomber crashed into the jungle, possibly inland from Cape Esperence.

Wreckage
Discovered during 1999, this aircraft impacted into thick jungle and the wreckage was scattered it was well preserved and undisturbed.

During 1999, a Japanese team from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare visited the wreck, led by a white expatriate. At the crash, the team recovered the remains of the crew.
