Mission History
On September 14, 1943 took off from Munda Airfield, this Hellcat was lost during an escort mission and figher sweep over Kahilli Airfield and Ballale Airfield. This Hellcat was lost (unclear if pilot bailed out or ditched.

Fate of the Pilot
Bertuzzi was rescued and returned to duty. The details of his rescue are unknown.
