Aircraft History
Built by Aichi at Watanabe Iron Works. Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN). Assigned to the 452 Kokutai.

Wartime History
Transported to Kiska Harbor and operated from Kiska Harbor Seaplane Base. Heavily damaged in the cockpit area, the engine was removed, likely damaged on the ground or under repair. Abandoned by the Japanese when they withdrew from the island on July 23, 1943.

Wreckage
During August 1943 when American forces occupied Kiska, two E13A1 Jake aircraft wrecks were salvaged by the U. S. Navy and transported to Adak Island and displayed.
