Built by Douglas. Delivered to the U. S. Army. Ferried overseas via Hawaii to Australia.

Assigned to the 5th Air Force.

Wartime History
This C-47 was abandoned at Embi Airfield at the northwest edge of the northern runway.

The wreckage remains in kunai grass at the side of the airstrip. The engines and instruments are removed, likely during the war or by scrappers. The fuselage skin is mostly removed by locals cutting out pieces of aluminium.
