Aircraft History
Built by Douglas as C-47B-20-DK Constructor's Number 27131. Assigned US Army Air Force (USAAF) Serial Number 43-49870. Delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as A65-71 with radio callsign VH-CIN.

Wartime History
Served with 37 Squadron and carried squadron code OM-N on the fuselage.

In 1945 the aircraft carried the body of Prime Minister Curtin from Canberra to Perth for his funeral.

Airworthy Aircraft
The aircraft was withdrawn from operational use by the RAAF in October 1981. Ownership was transferred to the Australian War Memorial and flown by the RAAF on their behalf until being retired in 1997.

In Storage
The aircraft is currently stored at AWM's Treloar Technology Centre in Canberra.
