Built by Douglas as C-47B-35-DK Constructor's Number 33295. Assigned US Army Air Force (USAAF) Serial Number 44-76963. Delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as A65-104 in May 1945 and assigned Radio Callsign VH-RFU.

Wartime History
Served with 36 Squadron from June 21, 1945, where it carried squadron code RE-K on the fuselage.

Post-War
Damaged beyond repair by Cyclone Tracy in Darwin on December 25, 1974.

Remains Today
The tail and other remains of this aircraft are currently located outside the Australian Aviation Heritage Centre, Darwin.
