Aircraft History
Built by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) with Constructor's Number 971. Delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in October 1943.

Mission History
On April 26, 1944 took off from Gusap Airfield on a tactical reconnaissance mission over the Alexishafen area. The aircraft failed to return, and F/O Hindmarsh was listed as Missing In Action (MIA).

In 1946, a RAAF Searcher Team located this Boomerang in the Shaggy Ridge area . The remains of Dann remains were recovered. Evidence suggested this aircraft collided with Boomerang A46-119.

Memorials
Hindmarsh was officially declared dead the day of the mission. After his remains were recovered, he was buried at the Lae War Cemetery at grave N. A. 8.
