Aircraft History
Built by Boeing as B-29A-55-BN Superfortress with Constructor's Number 11440. Assigned U. S. Army Air Force (USAAF) serial number 44-61963.

Delivered to the Royal Air Force (RAF) on August 25, 1951, as Washington B.1 serial number WW354.

Arrived in Australia on December 12, 1952, and delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as Washington serial Number A76-2 was assigned to the aircraft, though it was never applied to the airframe.

The aircraft served with the Aircraft Research and Development Unit (ARDU) where it was used for testing and trials. Struck off charge on September 5, 1956, then sold for scrap on January 18, 1957. It was scrapped at Edinburgh in October 1957.
