B-24J "Ole Tomato" 42-100291 nose art and nickname right side of nose
The scoreboard below the cockpit has twenty-two bombs indicating missions flown. The purple heart to the left indicates a wounded crew member on March 11, 1944. Two Japanese flags indicate enemy fighters claimed by the bomber's gunners including a "Zero" [sic Ki-43 Oscar] on March 11, 1944. Both the nose art and scoreboard are painted atop a olive drab paint, indicating that prior markings might have been over painted.
