Aircraft History Built by Consolidated at San Diego. Constructors Number 366. On June 9, 1942 delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-24D-CO Liberator serial number 41-11870. Ferried overseas via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Australia arriving November 11, 1942. Wartime History Assigned to the 5th Air Force (5th AF), 90th Bombardment Group (90th BG) "Jolly Rogers", 320th Bombardment Squadron (320th BS) "Moby Dick". Later, assigned to the 400th Bombardment Squadron (400th BS) "Black Pirates". No known nickname or nose art. Mission History On April 20, 1943 this B-24 crashed. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared. References Other references state date of loss as February 4, 1943 [sic].
