Background
Mitsubishi A7M Reppu was also known as the A6M5c Model 52 Hei. Reppu means "Strong Gale" in Japanese. The plane had an empty weight of about 7200 lbs, and was powered by Mitsubishi Ha-43 radial engine with 2,200 hp with similar performance to the P&W R-2800. The Reppu (-2 version) had a top speed at altitude of 390mph.
