Aircraft History
Built by Nakajima, their 43rd Model 62 aircraft built. Assigned to the Yokosuka Kōkūtai with tail code ヨ-143.

Wartime History
At the end of the war, captured at Yokosuka Airfield. Postwar, transported to the United States, where it was tested postwar.

Display
During 1946, displayed to NAS Willow Grove and stored outdoors in natural aluminum finish with tail ヨ1.

During 1962, acquired by the National Air & Space Museum and partially restored at the New England Air Museum.

Next, loaned to the San Diego Aerospace Museum, where it the restoration was completed and the Zero was placed on public display, where it remains until this day.
