Built by Nakajima, estimated date of assembly October 1942. This was the 345th Zero assembled by Nakajima.
Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as A6M2 Model 21 Zero manufacture number 6345.
This Zero was abandoned at Ballale Airfield on Ballale Island.
During 1968, the tail cone of this Zero was recovered by Robert Diemert.
Ryan Towes adds:
"The survival of the tail cone from A6M2 6345 also may indicate the same for the tail components of this aircraft."
