Adams August 1945

Pilot History
Pilot George H. Gossom flew at least 88 combat missions in the South West Pacific. In February 1997, he died in the New Orleans area.

Aircraft History
Built at Douglas. Delivered to the U. S. Army, serial number unknown. This aircraft was either a A-30G or A-20H model. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia and reassembled.

Wartime History
Assigned to the 3rd Bombardment Group, 8th Bombardment Squadron. Assigned to Captain George H. Gossom. Nicknamed "Gruesome Goose". This aircraft flew at least 80 combat missions, either the highest, or one of the highest mission aircraft in the 8th Squadron by the end of the war. At the end of the war, operated from Bolo Field on Okinawa. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
