A-20 Pilot, 3rd Bombardment Group, 89th Bombardment Squadron

Assigned A-20G "Big Nig" 43-9436 that he nicknamed and had Damon Runyon style red-Indian character was painted on the left side of the nose. This aircraft force landed on May 3, 1944 after a mission against Wewak piloted by 2nd Lt. Tom Reading.

Next, assigned another aircraft that he nicknamed "Big Nig II" after an June 16, 1944 mission A-20 "Big Nig II" was written off.

Finally he assigned a final A-20 that he nicknamed "Big Nig III" A-20G "Big Nig III" 43-21315.

In total, Folse flew 67 missions with 127 sorties.
