Anti-Aircraft & Search Light Bunker
Also known as the "Yamamoto Bunker".
This bunker is in the center of town. The spacious interious feautures
impressive construction and massinve rooms. After the war, it
was a museum. In 1994, it was cover in ash and since then gets
few visitors. Also, tour its interior,
and map room.
Communications Bunker
The Rabaul Communication bunker is another
spacious underground bunker., with a limited above ground profile.
This bunker was the communication nerve center for Rabaul town
during the war. It even had an underground printing press!
Command Post
Bunker
Located atop "Coastwatcher's Hill"
this area was a Headquarters area and today there are several large Japanese guns
and Anti-Aircraft guns remaining, with a commanding view of the area.
