Embi Airfield
One of the other airfields in the Popondetta area, it based P-38 Lightning fighter aircraft primarily.

The runway and area is completely overgrown with Kunai grass. But, for those who know where to look, there are many remains of P-38 aircraft.

During the walk to the airfield, Frank pointed out the site of several P-38 crash sites where only twisted remains were left.

Also, there were many rusted engines and superchargers and other spare parts in one area of the field. All were completely rusted, and the metal washed white due to the fact they were in the exposed sunlight or kunai grass.
