Headquarters Squadron (HQ)

On June 28, 1943 the HQ 80th Fighter Group arrives at Karachi Airfield.

On October 1, 1943 HQ 80th Fighter Group moves to Nagaghuli Airfield in India.

On August 29, 1944 HQ 80th Fighter Group moves from Nagaghuli to Tingkawk Sakan.

On January 20, 1945 HQ 80th Fighter Group moves from Tingkawk Sakan to Myitkyina.

On May 24, 1945 HQ 80th Fighter Group moves from Myitkyina to Dudhkundi, India.


88th Fighter Squadron (88th FS)

On June 28, 1943 the 88th Fighter Squadron with P-40 Warhawks arrives at Karachi Airfield in India (Pakistan).

During October 1943 transfers to Mokelbari Airfield in India.

On August 20, 1944 detachment of the 88th FS operating from Myitkyina with P-47s returns to base at Shingbwiyang.

On January 23, 1945 88th Fighter Squadron, 80th Fighter Group, moves from Shingbwiyang to Myitkyina with P-47s.

On May 3, 1945 88th Fighter Squadron, moves from Myitkyina to Moran, India with P-47s.

On May 29, 1945 88th Fighter Squadron moves from Moran to Dudhkundi, India with P-47s.

89th Fighter Group (89th FS)

On June 29, 1943 the 89th Fighter Squadron arrives at Karachi Airfield.

On October 15, 1943 moves to Gushkara Airfield in India.

During August 1944, the 89th FS at Nagaghuli Airfield with P-47s, sends a detachment to operate from Dergaon.

On September 15, 1944 the 89th FS moves from Nagaghuli Airfield to Myitkyina with P-47s.

90th Fighter Squadron (90th FS)

On June 28, 1943 the 90th Fighter Squadron arrives at Karachi Airfield.

August 27, 1944 the 90th Fighter Squadron moves from Moran to Tingkawk Sakan with P-47s.

On May 5, 1945 90th Fighter Squadron moves from Myitkyina to Moran with P-47s.

On May 30, 1945 90th Fighter Squadron moves from Moran to Dudhkundi, India with P-47s.

459th Fighter Squadron (459th FS)

On September 1, 1943 the 459th Fighter Squadron is activated at Karachi Airfield.

On June 6, 1944 lost is P-38H Lightning 42-67001 pilot 1st Lt. Burdett C. Goodrich as one of seven P-38s on a fighter sweep and strafing mission against Meiktila in Burma.

On February 1, 1945 459th FS moves from Chittagong to Rumkha, India.

On May 11, 1945 459th FS moves from Rumkha to Dudhkundi with P-38s.
