Wartime History
Served in the Rabaul area, likely with the 8th Tank Regiment.
Wreckage
Recovered from Vazin Plantation area.
Display
Displayed at the 'Yamamoto Bunker' during the 1970s. Around the 1994 eruption, it was moved to the Kokopo Museum, where it is displayed to this day.
Brian Bennett recalls:
"Tank used to be in another part of Rabaul but forget where now. I do remember that the track gear on side to bunker (right side) was in fairly bad shape even back in 1979. I recall trying to get Rabaul tourist association at the time to do something about getting the track gear fixed up and corrosion retarded."
