Wartime History
One of two tanks landed by the Japanese at Milne Bay. [The other tank was Type 95 Ha Go]. This tank was bogged down on August 29, 1942 and abandoned. Captured by Australian forces.

Recovery
After the battle, it was taken to Australia for technical evaluation. Later, it toured the country on war bond drives.

Disposals
After the war, it was aquired by the Royal Australian Armoured Corps Museum where it is displayed.
