Ship History
Built March 1940, Lanched July 1941.

The San Diego steamed over 300,000 nautical miles, engaged the enemy on 34 different occasions, and never lost a man. She earned 18 battle stars for her World War 11 service, including Guadalcanal to Tokyo Bay.

Memorial
Along San Diego Harbor is a memorial to the ship and her crew.
