USS Rasher
which went on to rank second among US sub's for total tonnage
sunk during WWII. Across the top of this photo is written: sank
eighteen ship's tonnage 99,901 3 naval ships The 1 in the total
tonnage leads me to think there was a very close third. You can
also see the snow in the picture
This sub was in the local news just last week. Parts of, or the
whole conning tower is on it's way back to Manitwoc for display
at the museum. They didn't say where from. There was also a book written about this
sub.
