Ship History
A British owned coal burner, owned by China Navigation Company. Named after the Anhui Province of China.

Wartime History
Ran the blockage into the Philippines after its fall, the only ship to do so. Part of the "Robinson Mission" that landed at Cebu after the Japanese occupation.

Note: it is unclear if there was another ship named "Anhui".

Former banana boat, used by the US Army as a transport from Australia to New Guinea, circa December 1943 / January 1944 it traveled from Townsville to Goodenough Island.

Carl R. Thien recalls:
"The crew of the ship were Melanesian, and the officers were Dutch.”
