Sinking History
A USS Bunker
Hill SBD hit her with a 1,600 lbs armor piercing bomb, and eight other
planes finished off the ship which exploded in a huge blast, sinking into Truk Lagoon.
Shipwreck
Broken into two sections on a 100 foot bottom. The hull
and deck were blow apart by an explosion and debris is all over the bottom.
The bow is about 50' away and also mangled.
