Ship History
As an armed merchant, she was equipped with four 6" guns and AA defensive armaments. On the day of the attack was headed to the Northern part of Truk Lagoon following Destroyers Nowake, Maikaze and CL Katori.

Shinking History
On February 16, 1944 straffed by an F6F Hellcats from USS Intrepid. Next it was attacked by 5 TBF's from Bunker Hill, scoring only close misses. One plane from Cowpens straffed, but without any visible effects. Yorktown, Essex and Cabot planes returned and finally sunk her with multiple 500 lbs bomb hits, causing explosions and sinking fast.
