History of Marine Corps Aviation in World War II This book is the official History of Marine Corps Aviation in World War II. Author Sherrod writes both from personal experience as a Time/Life correspondent in the Pacific War enhanced by archival research using U.S. Marine Corps War Diaries, unit histories, mission reports and muster rolls. The hardcover book does not have cover art, the cover is a blank gray hardcover front and back. The spine of the book reads "History of Marine Corps Aviation in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps logo. The book concludes with nine appendixes. The first is a list of Marines who earned the Medal of Honor, The second awards to Marine squadrons. The ninth are unit sketches that include a paragraph format summary of each squadron. The book concludes with a The index pages 478-496 includes names, locations and topics, but is not comprehensive for every reference to ever squadron or individual.
