Kokoda
Village
Papua New Guinea
A small museum was set up in the 1970's by the Keinzle
family and the local district office. It had a few weapons on display.
John Douglas reports:
"The Australians have rebuilt
the small museum located there [about 1000 sq feet]. Its mostly photos,
because the local rascols attempt or have stolen the wartime guns.
The Australians have built a hospital at Kokoda,
as a WWII guesture. Also, they now intend to upgrade the small memorial
as well."
