Location
Mesegon Island is part of the Nomoneas Islands at the southern edge of Truk Lagoon in Truk Lagoon in Chuuk State (Truk) in the Federated States of Micronesia. Also spelled "Megeson" or Meseong". To the west is Otta Island and Otta Passage.
Wartime History
Later in the Pacific War, 110 mines were placed on the beaches of Mesegon Island as part of their defenses.
