Plum Pudding (Kennedy Island)

MapLat 8° 5' 60S Long 156° 54' 0E To the south-east of Ghizo, along the Blackett Strait. This island is covered with palms and white sand. It is also known as Plum Pudding Island or Kasolo Island.

Click For Enlargement This island is where John F. Kennedy swam ashore after PT 109, was cut in two by a collision with a Japanese destroyer. Since then, it has been referred to as "Kennedy Island" since his presidency.
