History
Scouted on April 8, 1943 by PT 114 (Captain Ens Dean).
Aboard were Generals Horance H. Fullre (41st
Division) and Lt. Commander Atkins. Deemed a superior
location to Cape Ward Hunt, On April 14, PT-128
visited again, and landed 41st Division troops to
occupy the Harbor.
PT Boat Base
Three PT Boats arrived on
April 20, 1943 (PT 142, PT 66 and PT 149) and began
setting up the base. It was a shore based operating
point, replacing Tufi.
River is Navigable for Nearly 1.75 nautical
miles upriver.
