History
The other islands were objectives of the 12th Cavalry; the 1st Squadron, reinforced, would seize and mop up Koruniat and Ndrilo on April 1, 1944. . In preparation for the 1st Squadron, 12th Cavalry's attack on Koruniat, which had earlier been suspected of harboring naval guns, PT boats and a rocket boat as well as the customary artillery took the islands under fire.
