Borders Tarlac Province to the south, Nueva Viscaya to the west, and Nueva Ecija to the south-east.

San Manuel
Click For EnlargementLat 16° 3' 56N Long 120° 40' 0E  Inland town in Pangasinan. At the time of the American liberation in January 1945, the road between San Manuel and San Nicolas was impassible to vehicles. The 7th Tank Regiment, retreating from Binalonan was trapped at San Manuel by the lack of roads and approaching US Army forces.

Asingan
MapLat 16° 3' 0N Long 120° 40' 5E  Inland town, north of Santa Maria.

San Nicolas
MapLat 15° 50' 60N Long 120° 31' 60E  Inland town on the road to Manila. Liberated by the US Army 32nd Infantry Division arrived at this location, them proceeded to Santa Maria.

Click For EnlargementThe Japanese Army had carried crates of silver peso coins from banks in Manila, and buried them in San Nicolas when the liberation began. American troops began finding silver Peso coins in a large shell hole, reported to the 201st CIC based in Rosales, three truck loads of coins were dug up and returned to the Philippine Treasury.

Santa Maria
Click For EnlargementBarangay of San Nicolas, located at the foot of the Villa Verde Trial. Liberated by the US Army 32nd Infantry Division arrived and moved into combat on the Villa Verde Trail. Today there are several 'Red Arrow' memorials.

27 mile trail runs climbs over 5,000' from Santa Maria to Santa Fe along ridge lines large enough for foot traffic and horses, that leads to a junction with Route 5 and the Cagayan Valley. Battle between US Army 32nd Infantry Division and Japanese from January 30 - May 28, 1945.

Lat 15° 53' 40N Long 120° 37' 58E  Inland town located in the south of Pangasinan, along the MacArthur Highway. American troops were based here after liberation January 19,1945.

Tayug
MapLat 16° 1' 36N Long 120° 44' 52E  Small town near Rosales. Elements of the Japanese Army 10th Tank Regiment was based here when the American liberation in January 1945 began.

Pamienta
MapLat 15° 55' 60N  Long 120° 49' 0E  Town located in the south-eastern corner of Pangasinan. American troops of the 25th Infantry Division, 27th Infantry Regiment had cut Roth 8 near Pamienta. On January 29-30, 1945 the Japanese 'Omoro Detachment' was advancing in a column over Route 8 toward Munoz. Overnight, at 2000 both units unaware of the other had collided and firefight ensued. By the morning, the Americans had destroyed most of the column: 8 tanks, 8 prime movers, 4 tractors, 5 trucks, 8 105mm guns. Only four tanks managed to get to Monoz.
