Province on Mindanao Island, located on the north coast, center of the island.

Macajalar Bay
Regiment of the 40th Infantry Division landed at the Bay, at the north of the island at the Sayre Highway unopposed on May 10, 1945. They joined guerrilla forces and proceeded south.

Lat 8° 29' 0" Long 124° 37' 0"  Small Mindanao airfield.

Wartime History
On December 14, 1941, after a bombing mission against Legaspi, 1st Lt. Hewitt T Wheless makes an emergency landing of his damaged B-17 at Cagayan Airfield, and is later awareded the Distinguished Service Cross.

Lat 8 24' 38" N  Long 124 36' 35" E Located to the south of Cagayan de Oro.

Used by the Japanese

November 21, 1944
(FEAF) B-24s bomb Lumbia Airfield.
