Impalutao

On May 23rd troops of the 31st and 40th Division linked up, the entire Highway was now in American hands.

 

Kibawe (Kibawa)
MapLat 7° 34' 8N Long 124° 59' 14E  Located to the north Kabakan, along the Sayre Highway. A trail existed down to Davo from this location.

Liberated on May 3, 1945, elements of the 31st Division went down the trail toward Davo, but the bulk of the division continued north on the highway. Japanese resistance in this area operated directly under Morozumi in central Mindanao, with a banzai charge in mid-May against the American forces, and afterwards fled to the east.
