Location
Lat 9° 26' 60N Long 170° 1' 60E  The Wotje Atoll includes a number of islands, including Wotje (the largest), Bodao, Enejeltalk, Ukon, Wetwirok, Kaiken, Wormej, Kimajo, Ninum, Kaben. Prewar a German colony until 1918.

Wartime History
Occupied by the Japanese for the duration of the war, although cut off from supply. During September 1945, the garrison heard the surrender broadcast on Australian radio and finally surrendered.
