Sunked off the pier at Gugegwe Island.

Shipwreck
wreck is a cargo ship, about 30 yards directly off the pier. Post war, it was blown up to clear access to the pier. No superstructure remains expect for a 10' long section of the bow lying in 15' of water among widely scattered debris.

Wartime History
Sunk to the south of Gugegwe pier. Likely sunk on December 4, 1943.

Shipwreck
Sank upright in 60' of water. Only the metal parts of the ship remain, engine, fuel tanks, and hull planking and basalt. A full case of small arms ammo is nearby. In 1978 four Samurai swords were discovered in the aft, but the blades had rusted away.
