Lat 6° 13' 0S Long 155° 33' 0E  Town Located on the eastern coast of Bougainville, near Kieta. This town was largely destroyed during the Bougainville Crisis of the 1990s.

Kieta Peace Memorial
Dedicated in 2003, memorial for the end of the Bougainville Crisis in the 1990s. The memorial is shaped like a globe, with (inoperative) guns stuck into the concrete as a symbol of the peace and disarmament. The guns were later removed by locals. Photo by Justin Taylan, 2003.
