Doonside

MapLat 33° 46' 0S Long 150° 52' 0E  Located to the west of Sydney There was an emergency strip and army base located here during WWII.

Wallgrove Army Base
The following Australian Army units were based there:
c 1940 - 21st Light Horse Regiment
Jul 1940 - 2/19th Battalion (new recruits)
Dec 1940 - 3rd Infantry Battalion
Feb 1943 - 9th Australian Division (AIF division returned from Nth Africa).
Aug 1943 - 53rd Anti-Aircraft (Composite) Regiment
Apr 1944 - 2/25th Australian Infantry Battalion
Apr 1944 - 2/31st Australian Infantry Battalion
Post-war, the 176 Air Dispatch Company was based there.

Built in 1942, as a satelite and emergency strip, then abandoned in the later 1940's.
