Located on the Seward Peninsula, along Norton Bay.

Construction
Built as an emergency field by the Army. Construction was by the Civil Aeronautics Authority, but instead, Army Engineers moved in and began construction on July 23, 1941.

A ground garrison of 9 officers and 221 enlisted men arrived on 3 September to protect the Nome base. Used to patrol the Bearing Sea and as an emergency field, also in the Lend-Lease ferry route to Russia.
