Warime History
The second of two guns built into an emplacment by the Japanese
Navy behind Sup on Muschu
Island. Carefully hidden in the sloping hill in earthen ravetments,
with ammunition storage built into the walls. There are no bomb craters
nearby, indicating they may
not
have
been bombed by Allied aircraft.
Wreckage
Its revetment is better preserved that the No.
1 gun postion. A connecting access trench still lead out of the revetment.
Ammunition canisters were built into the revetment walls, and are still
in place today, although empty. Locals sold the brass shells to scrap
dealers. In 2003, one of the 140mm ammunition crates was taken from the
gun and brought down to a village near Sup, current whereabouts unknown.
