| History
The first of two guns built into an emplacment by the Japanese
Navy behind Sup on Muschu
Island. Carefully hidden in the sloping hill in earthen ravetments,
with ammunition storage built into the walls. There are no bomb craters
nearby, indicating they may
not
have
been bombed by Allied aircraft.
Today
Well preserved, this gun seems to have slipped off its wooden
support and lies slightly skewed to the side. Empty ammunition canisters
are behind the gun. The shells were reportedly removed sometime after
the war by villagers for their brass value.
