A Tribute to the Nurses of the Pacific

Post by tfbopp »

I am writing a tribute book on the Women's Army Corp Nurses of the Pacific and would appreciate any contributions either in text or photo's of those heavenly angels of mercy.

My initial focus is on a nurse know as "Max". One of the first in New Guinea and who had absolutely amazing experiences from New Guinea, through the Solomon Islands, to the Phillipines. Then to Okinawa and finally as an assessor to the people damage at Hiroshima Japan immediately after the dropping of the First Atomic Bomb.

Her name was Maxcine Hanan (some times spelled Hannan)

Anyone knowing of her or other nurses serving in the MASH units or on rescue missions such as front line ambulances or transport planes like the C47's bringing wounded back to the hospitals from the front lines throughout the Pacific, feel free to contribute anything you would like considered for inclusion in publication.

send your inputs for considertion to timothy.bopp@yahoo.com
