Based on the date and some of the details, I'm assuming this is F/Lt Newton, VC.

Daniel is correct. This is the execution of RAAF F/Lt William Newton, VC (not an Allied Intelligence Officer).
The link posted by PF is quoting (without attribution) from a Japanese diary captured during the war.

[Note: The Tai commander Lt Komai was not brought to trial because he was KIA in the Philippines. Vice Admiral Fujita, who ordered the execution, committed suicide before trial]
